What containers can I set out for pickup other than my poly cart?

From May 1st to September 30th, you may set out up to 5 additional bags. From October 1st to April 30th, you may set out up to 3 additional bags. Also acceptable are wooden or cardboard boxes up to 10 cubic feet & not weighing more than 30 pounds and which are securely covered, closed or tied in a manner sufficient to prevent spillage, not to exceed three per pickup. Larger boxes such as those used for packaged appliances will be picked up if broken down & folded flat.

Can I have an additional container?

Yes. You need to come to the Utility Billing Office at City Hall to complete a form requesting an additional cart. For each additional container (cart) there is an additional $10.21 per month charge.

When is my bulk pickup day?

To view the bulk pick up schedule, please click here. In addition to this, a schedule can be picked up at the Utility Billing Office. Or you may contact Utility Billing at 262-4070.

What happens if the bill due date is on a weekend?

Utility bills are due by the 15th of each month. If the 15th falls on a weekend, you will have until 5:00 p.m. on Monday to have your payment in the Utility Billing Office before the penalty is applied.

Do you take payments over the telephone?

Yes, with Visa or MasterCard and $3.00 fee.  You can pay online with the same cards for a  $2.00 fee.  Payments also may be made in person, dropped in the night drop box, or mailed to City of El Reno, Utility Billing, P.O. Drawer 700, El Reno, OK. 73036.  We also offer the option of having the payment taken automatically each month from your bank account.

Do you take credit cards?

Yes, we take Visa and MasterCard.  We also offer the ability to make payment on-line. If you do not have your own computer, you may use a public access computer at the El Reno Carnegie Library.

How far in advance do I need to let you know if I need to set-up service, close my account, or transfer my service?

In most cases, the change in service can be processed the same day it is requested, however, if you need the change to take place the same day, it is suggested that your request is made prior to 3:00 p.m.

When do I get my utility deposit back?

The deposit is left on the account until the account is closed (finaled). At that time, the deposit will be applied to the final bill. If the deposit is greater than the final bill, a refund for the difference will be mailed to the forwarding address you provided.
